Parish Pastoral Council

In the aftermath of the Second Vatican Council (1962-65), parish councils were encouraged as a way of engaging the lay faithful to assist the parish priests in identifying areas of pastoral concern.

The pastor consults with the Parish Pastoral Council through a consensus process in an atmosphere of prayerful reflection. Together they strive to foster a close working relationship among all committees and groups within the parish to promote unity and growth in the areas of spirituality, evangelization, education, social services, parish social life and finances.

St. Peter Parish council members are nominated by fellow parishioners every fall and agree to serve a three year term.

Meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month from September through June at the Pastor’s discretion.
